The Lamination of the GM Screen

You might also try a customizeable screen like this one:

I have that one, and the taller grey 4-panel one, too.

I have also made my own screens, using clear tape, page protectors and paper-pad backs, which worked just fine indeed.

But, as I mentioned above this thread was mainly about trying to protect, yet still use a (set of) screen that are perfectly useable. I find in most games that sceens wind up only being dice-shields, which is fine. But the two that I am talking about are actually useful in the game I am running.

Thanks though, I love those other customizeable screen things that I have.

Actually, I made copies of my screen -- panel by panel -- and insert them into my Quad MasterScreen. It's like them binder's covers with pockets.

Yeah, I have that one. The silver-grey one, right? Great screen. I like the idea of the photocopying, and have thought about doing that, but the pair of screens that I have have a really nice single art side that I don't want to cut up (as someone else mentioned above) and would look terrible when xeroxed.

Thanks one and all for your ideas thus far.

For 25 bucks a DM should be smart enough to construct thier own. :]

Oh, you can do it for a lot less then that. And I have, but they are simply not as nice as the GM screen things that were linked above.

For some reason I read this as "lamentation of the GM Screen."

"Oh, woe is me! *sniff* Nobody cares about us GM screens, we get no respect. *sob* Why do I even try to be helpful! All day long *sob* it's 'you don't have the right info' and 'you're hard to read' *sniff*"

i've gone wireless.

since the new edition plays like a videogame might as well make it one.

i was thinking of having the players bring over their laptops and do a NWN dungeoncrawl. all playing at the same table.

I was about to post the exact same comment. I keep glancing to the thread, wondering what tales of GM woe (possibly written out in poetry form) it contains until I realize what word I'm looking at :)

Just to pimp, I personally wish more companies did screens like what White Wolf has been doing lately. Hardcover screens ftw!!!

Stuff.

You mean something like Vampire: The Dark Ages screen, forget it.

The DM's Shield from Kenzer & Co. is the best. Too bad there's no award for it.

Somebody should do a "Pimp My Screen" show.

yes, it is the best one available.

you should get their Hackmaster one too if you play the older versions and want to do a few minor conversions.
