The Last of Us (HBO Max)

Joel's death certainly hit my spouse hard; I didn't warn them it was coming.
Same and same. After it, we were talking about how back in the day with The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, how we had certain friends on social media that were always spoiling those shows. To give warning would've taken away from the heavy blow of it, the heartache.

Not played the game; one question I had that's not spoilery was whether the time skips in the series (e.g. the 5 year one we're introduced right at the start of the 2nd season) follow a similar pattern to ones in the game?

Loving it so far, though last episode did repeat the tired action trope of unexpected help arriving at the last possible second...what are the odds?

But as character-driven action-horror, this show has few equals. Post-apocalytpic Seattle is jaw-dropping and haunting, given how well I know that city...and how much it resembles my home.

Buncha articles out today about the usual suspects review bombing the show. Sigh. Remember when homophobes and mysoginists were at least expected to hide in shame? I miss those days.

Yeah I think that could have been handled better. I mean, what are the odds that Jessie and Tommy find the theater and Ellie and Dina are dumb enough to leave their map behind?

The look is good and I enjoy the drama being placed on the people instead of waiting for like 6 seasons for the infected to stop being the main threat.
