Liriel dosen't belong in RAS's novels, just as Drizzt dosen't belong in EC's novels.

As for my feelings on Liriel, that's another topic for another thread. :D

I picked up the book yesterday and finished it last night, It was very good, but I like many of his books.

I did notice that he didnt seem to mind giving a lot of the minor characters dirt naps, I thought that was pretty cool.

Agreed. Usually in fantasy novels, you see invincible elves singlehandedly cutting down armies of orcs. It's nice to see that the orcs can have a good day every now and then. :D

Hmm. Now we just need a adventure module where the evil drows finally succeed in their attack on the surface dwellers and conquer a few kingdoms, instead beeing defeated by 4 to 6 heros that singlehandedly destroy the whole drow command structure and parts of the army. :)

The drow do already control one kingdom in FR, far to the south near Halaurra (sp?).

Just that the drow do a lot of stabbing in the back.

Actually, I think there was a module somewhat like that back in the days of 1e AD&D called Queen of the Spiders in which the PCs singlehandedly take on an entire drow city.

I believe you're thinking of Dambrath, a city in southern Faerun where half-drow make up about 15% of the population. Full-blooded drow no longer live in the city, as they retreated back to the underdark long ago.

Loved it

Ok, so I got the Lone Drow the day it came out, it was def. done the next day :)

I've always been a big fan of RAS's novel, esp. the Drizzt series'. The only thing that really bothered me about this book was the fact that Innovindil seemed WAY too cozy with Drizzt. I mean come on, your lover/soul mate dies and you're already hitting on a DROW? Seems a little far fetched to me, though earlier in the novel there are instances where i felt RAS hinted that she might already be feeling something for Drizzt, despite the fact that she was with her lover on the trip...any other thoughts from those who have read it?

I cannot wait (well i guess i can since i have to) until the next book comes out. I want to see how exactly the Heroes get out of this mess, and what the final outcome of Obould's rampage are. I loved the theory from the priestess of Lloth who seems to think that
Drizzt is an unknowing agent of Lloth! That is so awesome and something i've kicked around before, questioning why it is that Lloth wants him dead when he does so effectively what she herself is all about, i.e. spreading chaos
.
