*Once they have the orc restrained, Alysina's pupils, which had previously gone milky white, return to normal, as she incants in iambic pentameter:*
"O vengeful apparitions, hie thee now! Dollurh's foreboding's mistress takes her bow."
*At that, the spirits, which have been advancing towards Irontusk, give looks of angry disappointment and turn about, retreating back belowground and returning near Alysina, slinking back into the rift to Dollurh above her head, as the eldritch wind blows. Just for fun, one of them pops up suddenly and apparently menacingly in front of Krontigard before obediently flying over him and into the rift. Then the rift closes, and Alysina returns to normal (OOC Note--but she doesn't stop concentrating, nor does she move from her spot--she waits for them to come to her).*
"Ah, good, good. Now that all that's settled, let's talk about this like civilised people, shall we?" Alysina asks with a smile, "It has been such a while since my last one of these. Oh boy!"
*She waits for Irontusk to be brought over--she still can't make the 15 foot jump.*
"Krontigard, my friend, can you run ahead and get a table at The Foaming Mug? I'll meet you there for dinner."
'Won't do to have him hear the results of this interrogation. We need to go somewhere secure.'
*Once Krontigard is gone, if he leaves:*
"This place looks quiet enough. Let's talk shop, Tusky old chum. As you are no doubt aware, I have been in contact with the souls of the damned, and one among them in particular calls for your blood. Fortunately, I just want answers from you. Do you know what it feels like to have your soul peeled away, a tiny bit at a time--to feel your spirit sinking, slowly sinking, forever into Dollurh? It doesn't feel good, Tusky. In fact, some might call it the worst of tortures, but it is the way that the wrathful dead drain away your essence when they come back seeking vengeance, retribution. Sometimes, just sometimes, if a spirit has an intense sense of rage and purpose, it finds that it can resist the siren's call of Dollurh," she smiles grimly and points behind Irontusk, where the student's spectre, which had gone underground but had not disappeared into the rift, has popped up and is glaring and grinning with anger and the glee of anticipation at Irontusk.
*Alysina holds up a glowing hand against the spectre as if to hold it at bay, and it remains in place, unable to advance and finish off the captured half-orc, "You have surrendered, and I shall not let this forsaken spirit take you...if you prove helpful to us in this matter. But you are going to be very helpful, aren't you Tusky my dear?" she croons sweetly, a kind and innocent smile on her lips, then continues talking in a friendly manner, "I want to help you, and I'll do my best with this spirit, but I admit that it is usually hard to remove them without finishing their unfinished business and...well...its main goal is probably to get revenge on its killer. But I think it will be enough if we can retrieve the book that was stolen as part of the murder--the circle will then be complete. Surely, Tusky my dear, you can tell us more about how to find the book?"
[SBLOCK=OOC]She's trying to play good cop / bad cop, using the ghost to aid with that. She'd like to be making some kind of conjoined Intimidate/Diplomacy check that leaves him Intimidated in general by the ghost but grateful and Helpful towards her, hopefully with circumstance bonuses of some sort. Let me know what to roll, and of course Rio's help will be appreciated--if he makes his Aid check, he can be part of the good cop by doing Paladiny things to ward off the spirit if Irontusk cooperates or something.[/SBLOCK]
