A couple I've noticed alot of is the "Refilling Potion of Minor Healing" and "Scroll of Many Rare-but-Sometimes-Handy-but-Always-Unspecified-Low-Level Spells".

I actually gave these to the players in my campaign so that we wouldn't get bogged down by mundane details when adventuring.

:D OK, that one I hadn't thought about. I suppose I should give them out soon.

I had a DM once who gave us these rings that were standard issue on the soldiers of some ancient civilization. Basically, they allowed telepathy with anyone else who wore the rings within a certain distance.

A cool idea.

But we quickly turned them in to rings of kibitzing.

Any time we had to talk to an NPC of any sort, it basically turned into the bard talking and the other players telling him what to say. Every combat turned into a Navy SEAL operation. It was getting to be a little silly.

Until the Bad Guy got hold of the general's ring :)

You guys have forgotten the most important one of all...a two piece set, kind of like the hand/eye of vecna.

The "dreaded" pencil/eraser of eternal recalculation.

Capable of adjusting saving throws, armor class, experience, hit points, gear and more...this is undoubtedly the most powerful tool brought to any campaign...use it wisely.

The rare time someone plays a spellcaster- they seem to have a kevlar familiar carrying case on them.

No that's actually a "blinking familiar". Pops into existence when you need the bonus and vanishes to some extradimensional safeplace immediately after. Very handy these things;)

What about the mages invisible ruler of spell positioning. Don't you love the way the fireball gentley warms the cold armour of the frontline tank, while charring his erstwhile enemy.

Its called GPS and laser rangefinder nowadays !! Why shouldnt magicians have them. If you havent noticed familiars are there to triangulate targets... :D

"The one true Torch" This sucker nevers gets used up. This one causes heat and fire.

The everful Lanter of oil- Never runs out of fuel.

Everful Waterskins.

And horses seem to have been spefically trained, when rider dismounts and draws a weapon to flee from the combat area. Then they walk back when the fighting is done.

And then they carry all that gold, thousands and thousands of gold coins. I should give my players a sack of a 1000 pennies to show how much it weights.

Don't forget those Goggles of Knowing How Well I Hide.
