Comparing the D&D cartoon to current kid stuff like "Ed, Edd & Eddy", "Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy", "Fairly Odd Parents", "A.T.O.M.", "Max Steel", "Totally Spies", "Winx Club", "W.I.T.C.H.", "Johnny Test", etc? The D&D cartoon was so much better, more than two decades ago!

I think W.I.T.C.H. is better. Better graphics, better plot, good guys do not always win, but they sometimes attain their goals.

That was the main problem with the DND cartoon. They never attained their goal and never had sub-goals.

Agreed with mhacdebhandia on this one. Even in the 80s and early 90s there were so many better cartoons than the D&D cartoon! I could hardly watch even a few episodes of the latter. Gargoyles was cool too, though that was around near the end of my childhood cartoon-watching days.

helium3: Duck Tales! Man that was entertaining sometimes, though kinda stupid at other times.

Hey, "Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy" is hillarious. Then again, I was a Ren and Stimpy fan back in the day as well. :)

And Animaniacs is the best cartoon ever. Ever I say, EVAR!

I can see that happening, actually. I was watching a collection of 80s cartoon theme songs on Youtube and, while I recognized most of them, there were several cartoons I hadn't heard of ("Defenders of the Earth??? Blackstar???). My family also visited Canada when I was young, where I first watched Sabre Rider and the Star Sheriffs. I had never seen the show down in the States and was instantly a fan. :) Alas, it apparently never aired where I was living.
Oh good lord. I remember Sabre Rider.

All IMHO, of course:

The D&D cartoon is far better than South Park, Drawn Together and the entirety of Adult Swim put together in a blender (can you tell I don't like these "adult" cartoons?).

Hey, the Venture Brothers is pretty snazzy, especially if you're old enough to remember Johnny Quest (at least in reruns).

No way the d&d cartoon is betten than Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Samurai jack, the batman animated series, the justice league and even teen titans... Every one of this 80´s cartoon that I tried to see as a adult.. sucks, like a lot.. And I loved many of than when I was 8 - 12 years old...

Spot on. When I first heard about the 'Points of Light' I had just finished re-watching the Dungeons & Dragons DVD set that came out fairly recently and I realized that the cartoon was exactly what they were describing with that concept.

Then I shook my head sadly and rolled my eyes realizing that by this time next year the character stats that came with the DVD set would be worthless next year. :\
