The New Style

Actually he looks a bit like Shaggy in disguise ... maybe the Scooby Doo guys got jealous of the D&D guys and sent them on a psycho trip.

So we know the core classes will be: ranger, barbarian, magician, thief, cavalier, and acrobat!

Those classes always bugged me, when I was a kid. See, I got into the cartoon long before I acquired Unearthed Arcana, so I had no idea what a barbarian, a cavalier, or an acrobat actually were in a D&D context.

Sure, I could puzzle it out, but I remember feeling much better once I actually had the relevant rules. ;)

Who's the evil goon with the sunglasses and the goatee?

Field trip leader?

Hadn't even noticed him before. He does look like a Villain. So is DM a new deity or just Elminster ripp-off?

Perhaps it's a much younger Gary Gygax? :D

You people that watched the cartoon were lucky... you are among the privileged few who got to see a thief-acrobat in actual play!

Silly Mouse. Anybody who was anybody had all of those in Dragon magazine first. :)

Cheers,

HA! I got you beat, Mouse!

I was a fan of the cartoon (called here "Cave of the Dragon") BEFORE I ever heard of the game!

Oh, and Dungeon Master was "Master of Magicians"!

And on the cool check in
Center stage on the mic
And we're puttin' it on wax
It's the new style

Four and three and two and one What up!
And when I'm on the mic - the suckers run (Word!)
Down with Adrock and Mike D. and you ain't
And I got more juice than Picasso got paint

... sorry about that. I couldn't resist. :)
