The OGL and other systems

First Post
I was reading on a message board on a different site, which I can't remember right now, on the possibility of another company going OGL with their system. I don't know if it would happen, but this is more of a curiosity question really, but what other game systems would you all like to see go OGC/OGL as d20 has done?

and if you want to extrapolate, why those systems?

Although not role-playing, I'd like to see Warhammer Fantasy Battles go OGL. People free to make their own armies and models, scenarios... then someone could possibly resurrect Blood Bowl as well :)

I have seen a new Blood Bowl box at my LGS the other day. I don't know if its a completely new edition or what, but I thought it was cool to see it stores again.

Hmm. I'll have to look out for it. Thanks :)

Supposedly some guy is trying to buy some stuff from WEG/Yeti, most notably Torg and the D6 system (maybe everything). If he ever does, he is planning on releasing the D6 system under the OGL.

That would make me very very very very very happy. I love the D6 system.

But, he's been trying for a year and nothing.

From what I read on the issue, he is not going to use the OGL. He is going to use AN open license, but one more similar to FUDGE's.

So far, this is what I know.

Gold Rush Games have introduced the Action! System (spawned from the Fuzion System) and along with that the Action! System Temporary License.*

www.action-system.com

* Yeah, I hope they will have something more permanent to replace the current license.

I also heard of another rules system being developed, titled the Prometheus System(?), that will fall under the Open Game License. Please note that OGL is a very generic license, which defines the terms OGC and PI, and governs the use of them.

While it is closely associated with d20 and the System Reference Documents, the OGL is not ... I repeat, not ... limited to that rules system.

And to hi jack the thread ;)

yes, blood bowle has been reborn, new mini's are being release and it it being supported by a division of games workshop known as Fantatic. These guys are supporting blood bowel, warmaster, epic, and talismon in its new incarnation I believe, as well as a number of other older gmaes workshoo games. end hijack. :D
