I prefer either four players & a DM or 1-on-1 solo character gaming. I can handle up to six players, but past that, I stop having fun as things tend to become too tedious.

It's not much of a game if you don't have at least 2 people including a DM!

Of course you can always run your multiple personalities through I game I suppose.

I'm for 4-5 people including the DM, not too many that everyone can pay attention and not too few to keep the challenges fun and exciting.

Just my thoughts

Six shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting, shall be six. Seven shalt thou not count, neither count thou five, excepting that thou then procede to six. Eight is right out. Once the number six, being the sixth number, be reached, then lobbest thou, thy Holy Mountain of Dew, towards thy foe... who, being naughty in my sights, shall drink it'... "

Obligatory Python reference #73. Someone else do Hitler and Nazis.

Hehehehe. :D

I voted 6 (5 players + 1 DM). That way, nobody feels that they have to fill a particular role in the group.

I hate hearing this: "No, you can't be a swashbuckling fighter/rogue! We've already got a rogue, and we need somebody to be the tank on the front line who can take damage. Play a fighter with a two handed sword and plate armor or a paladin or a barbarian."
