And came back. And took out Primus, Bwimb, Camaxtli, etc. And then died, and came back for good. That's made of awesome.

Orcus has been the BBEG of more than a few D&D adventures...

....and in the canon, he is always assumed to win.

Demogorgon is keen because he's so alien and pulp-themed.

I like Asmodeus myself.

Yeah, sounds awesome; makes me wish even more that Wizards would somehow find a place for him in the current cosmology.

With the yugoloths no longer a distinct race, and their history and cosmological niche invalidated, it would be fighting the tide to see a 4e Anthraxus, or any of the other unique 'loths in 4e. I don't see it happening anytime soon, but I'm not so sure that's a bad thing, all things considered. They might not be recognizable.

If Orcus is done like WAR's MM cover Baphomet-lookalike, then Demogorgon wins.

If Orcus is done according to the description given for him in his MM entry, then Orcus wins.

Damn Claudio, that illustration of Orcus is AMAZING! I hadn't ever seen a rendering of Orcus I'd really liked until that one (he isn't some red, muscular, buff goat-demon). You nailed it!

But Demogorgon still wins- he's just way more interesting and freaky (plus he's got Dagon on his side!).

Neither. Pale Night is more awesome. Heck, Grazz't is her kid (among others).

Unfortunately, "Pale Night" is a rotten name for a big bad demon. It's a fine epithet, but as one's sole name, it's kind of gimpy. So she's gotta lose.

Demogorgon and Orcus get real world myth-cred, but Graz'zt has one of those great Gygaxian names; they all are colorful, distinct, and awesome in their own (vicious and malevolent) ways. I picked Graz'zt, but that's a momentary preference. Ask me again tomorrow, and I may feel differently.

Fraz-Urb'Luu and Kostchtchie never seem to get much love. Zuggtmoy probably deserves more props than she gets, as she's easily the most fought of them thanks to T1-4, unless you count Lolth (who's looking a bit tired on the whole).

Orcus used to be my favorite, but he feels a little overplayed at this point.

I never liked Demogorgon, until Savage Tide made him interesting.

All that newfangled stuff like Pale Night and Obox-Ob can go die in a fire, along with some of the whackier 'classics' like Fraz-Urb-Luu and Kostchtchtchtchie.

Lolth was cool, back when she was just the Demon Queen of Spiders, then she got all Greater Goddess and now she too can dance, dance into the fire.
