Doesn't matter any more. After looking at the Mage i've decided to change my char.

Okay, maybe it's just me, but changing your character seems like a pretty crappy thing to do after the DM has done all this work. Ouch.

Mind you, it's none of my business, but -- ouch.

Do you really want to turn this into a thread about me justifying my choices vs the DM doing so? Or another arcane vs psionics thread? Because both are likely to turn into a flame war, i would imagine.

I'll just say; the DM was afraid of me playing 'too powerfull' a character, so purposly toned down the PrC. Good for him, but because of some bad experiences in my past i'm not going to play a character that sucks. Yay for background and RP and all that, but you don't know our group. Because of several impatient players practically every scene turns into combat in 15 minuites or less.

Believe me, the DM is not the only one dissapointed here.

Roland, I’m sorry but I gotta say that were I your DM and I just spent the time to make you a special class to fit the flavor of character that you wanted to play and you then threw up your arms and said F--- It! I’ll just play a Mage instead because this class is wimpy! I would be pissed (good way to start a game, pissing off your DM)

You are making NO attempt at working with your DM to make the custom class into something you want to play, why not work with him to adjust the power levels a little?

You may be forgetting that this is a d20M *advanced class*, not a *prestige class*. Advanced classes are designed to be available for entry at about 3rd or 4th level, whereas most prestige classes could be entered at about 6th/7th level.

Thus even if other things were equal in the d20M vs D&D world (which they aren't), an Advanced class should necessarily have a shallower "power curve" than any prestige class which it was being based off of, since it tops out at character level 13 rather than character level 16/17.

Do you see why a prestige class that was being turned into an advanced class would need to be toned down?
