The Retaking of Forgehold - 4E

Mira holds back, acting uncharacteristically indecisive.
-''I know exactly what I've done to deserve that, but it's still annoying when it happens.''

Mal slashes at the goblins surrounding him and steps back toward the group.

-''I said to form up on me, for crying out loud!''

Cleave (1d20+10=20, 1d10+6=12)

[sblock=OOC]I attacked g11, 4 points of cleave damage splash to g13.

Mal uses his move action to shift one square to NE

When I killed the first goblin, my lifedrinker weapon gave me 5 temporary hh. You lose temp hp first so I'm still at 40/40.

It is my understanding that the lifedrinker weapons works like the infernal warlock power; meaning that temp hp from the same source don't stack and so I can only have 5 temp hp from my sword active at a time. Therefore if these are both minions and they both die, I still only have 5 temp additional HP, not 10.

40/40 +5[/sblock]
The goblins are gutted by the force of your blow.
Arden Launches another attack in the middle of his enemies, but this time, he summons a burst of fire.
[sblock=actions] Fire burst centered on w4; attack vs g13,g12,w4,g9: 21,18,12,25; 6 fire dmg; Arden provokes attacks of opportunity for using an area power in melee. If an attack hits his AC or Reflex defense, he will use Shield as an immediate interrupt to up his AC and Reflex by 4 till the end of his next turn..

Mal curses the wolf and wish he could snap his neck right this instant. But despite his position, he notes the perilous situatuib that the wizard is in so he pushes the muzzle of the beast away with his shield and gets back on his feet.

-''Wait for your turn, doggie.''

Focusing on clearing himself enough room to maneuver, Mal beheads the goblin behind him and opens the throat of the one next to him in a single swing. He feels reinvigorated as his sword again drinks the lifeforce of his foes.

Cleave (1d20+10=22, 1d10+6=8)

Using his momentum, Mals comes back with a devastating backhand strike that lands on the neck of the wolf closest to the mage.

-''Well, that's more comfortable. Now, Arden, stop getting hit and get out of the fray!''

Exploiting the path cleared by the warrior, the wizard duck and dodge out of the melee into a position of relative safety where he can casts spell without receiving a sword through the gut for his trouble.

Covering strike, targets W4 (assuming the Hobgoblin had been shifted by Angel's power, otherwise he attacks the Hobgoblin),

I expect that arden shifts 2 square to F9, that's why I cleared the goblins right under that spot. But the movement isn't under my control so Arden can do what he wants.

I strongly urge him to do some area attack that will clear out g8 and g2 in either case since I can't stop these from attacking him on their turn.

The recipient of the covering strike is marked if not dead.

Arden quickly moves after Mal's gesture (free shift to f9). Then he unleashes another blast of fire, targeting two goblins and a wolf, (fire burst on g8,g10,w2: 9,7,17 vs ref, 11 dmg)
while he moves further away from threats. (move to F4)

[sblock=ooc]what bad rolls... A healing surge from Aelek would be appreciated[/sblock]

"Take a breath and focus, Arden" tells Aelek as he stands up. He then swing at the hobgoblin to squeeze him next to Mira, so she can easily hit teh hobgoblin if he decide to move.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Viper's Strike on hobgoblin (1d20+7=16, 1d8+3=7). That should miss. If it ever hit by some miracle, Mira will have the AoO.

Move action to stand up and minor to heal Arden

Also, remember you all heal 5 HP when you spend an action point.[/SBLOCK]

The hobgoblin is surprised when his secure position is uprooted by the demonic hand. he looks around trying to get his bearing, realizing this attack awasn't going the way he planned.
