I do agree that the authors are human and make mistakes, that's not the issue... but when those mistakes are made, the "obvious" solutions aren't necessarily obvious. Two different people will see two different "obvious" solutions. That's the issue I'm having in this situation. So since there isn't enough written in the DMG on this issue to sway the answer one way or another, I'm trying to find what was the intended answer by the writers.
