Khalas pulls a cloth across his face to protect himself from the dust and runs forward to investigate as well, keeping an eye out for any unexpected trouble.

Amongst the dust and through the confusion of people staggering from the centre of the occurance, you can vaguely make out a depression in the earth. Forcing your way closer to it, you notice that a sinkhole of some kind has swallowed up one of the wagons and caused a rippling effect thoughout the camp, creating veins of quicksand that suck wagoneers down into the ground.

You see several of the dwarves assisting the injured with healing herbs and balms, though few of the wounds are serious most of the badly affected have been sucked into the earth and disappeared.

Through the cloud the form of Thyrian calls out to you: "Come away from there! The ground is unstable, it could suck you all into an earthly grave!"

Instantly alerted to the danger you begin to pull back when you spot the end of the missing wagon in the centre of the sinkhole, and through its rear flap a face twisted and pale stared up, squinting in the light of Solaris. It grins its sharp teeth at you and seems to laugh, though its mocking tone is lost over the noise of the comotion surrounding you. As the sand pours into the rear of the wagon, the creature disappears in a wave of deadly sand, taking the wagon with it.

Before you the sand seems to drain away, and Thyrian's voice calls to you desperately across the camp.

The ground at your feet begins to quiver as Tarim bolt for safety. Through the dust you can see other veins of 'quickearth' drop away, swallowing wagoneers and half-burying camels and wagons.

OOC: Elegant 'bump', can I get some actions?

Following Tarim's lead you dodge your way through the sinking wagons and cries for help, desperate to avoid a grizly fate beneath the Sands of Solaris. In the dust storm you desperately try to protect your eyes while navigating the confusing alleyways between the tents and crates that lie scattered everywhere.

As you turn into a camp clearing you see the form of two wagoneers, mutilated, torn limb from limb and scattered across the ground haphazardly. In the centre two shadowy creatures partially hidden in the storm, crouch over the torsos of the men, bathing themselves in blood and revelling in the slaughter. The creatures look vaguely like the monster you spotted on the wagon only seconds ago, but you cannot make out exact details through the dust.

A quick glance behind you reveals an earthly vein swallowing up the ground at a rapid pace, forcing you to cross the clearing past the creatures, or face the hazard that is quickly growing behind you.

Khalas slows his pace to avoid drawing the creatures' attention as he plants his grip on his katars and squints into the dust to get a better idea of just what they are.

OOC: Drawing weapons and using Spot (+5) to discern any details.

Scimitar out, running flat-out, trying if possible to go wide of the critters, but risking them rather than the quickearth.
