The Sarah Jane Adventures

Sci-Fi is showing Doctor Who again, starting this friday! But they are showing something called the Sarah Jane Adventures before it. Is this something new, or the original spinoff? (If the original, I was under the impression that only one storyline/adventure was made and then it was canned?) K-9 FTW!

It's new (well, already shown here, but new to you). It's for children, though, shown about 4pm or something here. I found it impossible to watch, but kids might like it.

K9's not in it, except for a cameo in the first episode.

Sci-Fi actually aired the first 90 minute episode (time with commercials) last Friday. This week is just a 30 minute part 1 episode before the 90 minute Doctor Who premier. The following week Sci-Fi shifts to 1 hour of Sarah Jane followed by 1 hour of Who.

The first Sarah Jane episode wasn't bad. It felt like one of the lighter Who episodes. We shall see how the regular series turns out in the long run.

The pilot aired on Sci-Fi last week. Like Morrus, I couldn't watch it. I Tivoed it and ended up fastforwarding through most of it.

I watched the premier last week. Definitely geared towards a younger audience. Maybe if I only had Dr. Who as a reference it would have been OK, but after really getting hooked by the darker and more adult tone of Torchwood, I won't be bothering with it again.

I watched it and thought it was ok. I'll give it a few more viewings before deciding one way or the other.

Was it me or was the alien at the beginning the same species as the alien who [sblock=Possible Torchwood season 1 spoiler: ]gave Toshiko the mind reading device.[/sblock]

Thanks for the info, all! I wasn't expecting DW to show up here for a month or so, and wasn't paying much attention to the sci-fi listings, thus missing that TSJA was on last week. I'll watch it tomorrow to see what I think of it, I expect.

I watched the first regular episode and won't be watching any more. Not because it was horrible, because the bad guys were the Slitheen, whom I can't stand!

So, who's the kid? (Remember, I missed the pilot last week.)

(And I quite enjoyed the DW Christmas Special, even if he didn't save as many people as I would have liked. And loved the bit with the Queen!)

Thanks.
