The simple joys in life

Sunshine. The smell of fresh cut grass. The smell after a summer rain shower. Walking alone or with my girlfriend on a warm spring or autumn day. That smoky autumn smell. Walking alone through a city, feeling it around me and feeling connected to the city. Aurora borealis on a cold winter night. Going up north and away from cities and enjoying the endless stars. Enjoying a cold beer and a hot steak with my family.

I could probably go on.

"I did absolutely nothing today, and it was everything I thought it would be." -Office Space

A morning jog through the park.
Sweet and sour chicken and crab ran goon.
A good laugh.
Sleeping in on sundays.
Nice day of hard physical labor (I like to work with my hands).

A long walk through an empty park on sklightly overgrown nature trails
sitting in the sun nreading some RPG books
coming inside and just enjoying a cool glass of crisp and clear water
a cool dip in a pool

My wife, my son and I visited my parents in Florida last July. They have a "Florida room" which is just a fancy name for a screened in porch. My favorite part of the whole trip was being able to go in there and read/nap while my parents played with their grandson. :)

So many people have said silence. I don't really like silence. I like noise, but it has to be the right kind of noise. Rain on the rooftop, thunderstorms, wind in the trees, the crackle of a campfire. And, of course, music.

Driving, in the evening, when the streets are empty. (Of course with music).

Reading books.

Black tea with sugar and milk.

Jokes.

A myriad of other things.

And of course working towards world domination.
