The Simpsons Movie (Spoilers)

I didn't want to see this when I heard about it, but as it got closer I felt some odd need to go see it. Well, I did last night and I was shocked. It was incredible.

Great animation...they really shifted to a cinematic feel for this. It all felt like the same old comfortable Chinese animation but with a supercharged flair.

The jokes were non-stop and well done. Bart's skateboarding adventure had the entire theater almost on the floor.

Well done.

Yeah, that was awesome. I just saw the movie today, too bad I rarely get to see movies the day they premiere.

Loved the movie, would consider it the best of the summer except that my nostalgia-soaked brain still thinks that seeing Optimus Prime on the big screen was the awesomest thing EVAR! :heh: Have to admit that The Simpsons Movie was a better movie, but Transformers will still be cooler in my mind despite being kinda poorly done.

I thought it was good, but not as good as the best episodes of the TV series. I don't think anything will ever top "The Stonecutters."

I thought it was great, and I haven't really heard anyone that didn't enjoy it, or had a lot of problems with it. Spiderpig was funnier than I had imagined.

The only complaint I have really is that they give away too many jokes in commercials/trailers.

Is it old-school Simpsons humor that actually has some context, or is it just the absurdist "zany antics" that we've been getting for years? If it's more stuff like Spider-Pig, I'll pass.

There is plenty of old school humor as well as things like Spider-Pig. Although Spider-Pig is related to the story as well.

Its VERY old school. Having all the writers from the older seasons really does show. Its definitely a family story, which were always some of the best.

And, as was mentioned, Spider-Pig is part of the story. :)
