What sound does a Living Silence make when it fails a move silently check?
...and nobody is there to hear it. :D

I assume a Living Silence would be silent at all times. Since its Engulf ability subjects everyone in its space to its spell effect, it's safe to assume that its space is, in fact, silent.

There should be a Living Loudness.

That would be a Living Sound Burst, no?

Of course, RAW does not state that a Living Silence benefits from magical silence, hence the post.

Here's a bonus question: Is a Living Silence deaf?

One could make the argument that the living silence is engulfing rocks and dust and sticks and things all the time, imparting the silence spell as it goes. As such, not only is it silent, but everywhere it goes REMAINS silent...

I suspect that this was intended to be an amusing question and little more, but I would imagine that a failed Move Silently roll on the part of the living spell would represent not so much the creature itself causing a noise but rather the creature blocking a previously-noisy area/object. This would cause the observer to suddenly cease hearing the noise, and be able to ascertain the general location of the beast. So, to answer your question, I suspect a living silence suddenly ends some of the local ambient noise when it fails such a check.
