The Soundtrack to Nerdery

Two that I would include would be:

Cake's "Sheep Go to Heaven" and "Stickshifts and Safetybelts" -- But they're more for pure nerdiness.

As for songs just for roleplaying:

Definately "Dance of Curse" from 'Escaflowne'
Come to think of it, pretty much anything else by Yoko Kanno.

Don't forget D&D by Stephen Lynch

Well I got my 12-sided die and I'm ready to roll
With the wizard and my goblin crew
My friends are comin' over to my mom's basement
Bringin' funyuns and Mountain Dew

I got a big broadsword
Made outta cardboard
And the stereo's a pumpin' Zeppelin
It's that time of the night
We turn on the blacklight
Let the Dungeons & Dragons begin!

Konami - the Castlevania soundtracks

I read this yesterday and since then have had the theme paying over and over in my head, nonstop. Curse you!

I must go play the game on my NES now. :)

Night on Bald Mountain - Modeste Moussorgsky
Firebird - Igor Stravinsky
Castlevania music? That goes without saying. :D
I bet the soundtrack from The Ninth Gate would make some good gaming music. Then again, it's been a while since I've seen it.

Rush's Exit Stage Left is the greatest nerd-gaming album of all time...
But it doesn't have "By-Tor and the Snow Dog", "Rivendell", or "Temple of the Syrinx" on it --that would be Ride by Night for the first two, and 2112 for the third.

Still, Rush rocks out...

I'll add Blue Oyster Cult, if only for "Veteran of the Psychic Wars" and "Godzilla".

And Devo...
