The Tavern!

The one sentence campaign setting.

The Tavern, a typical fantasy land booze-house complete with attic and basement.

The Tavern: The first campaign setting where the ad copy is longer than the product.

The Tavern: Generic, infinitely expandable, home to every adventure you could think of, and then some!

The Tavern, where your imagination can run wild.

Dungeon crawls, political intrigue, Morris Dancing, escaped animals, crazed wizards, prosylitizing priests, rapacious rogues, and other other stereotypical character types. Watered beer, doctored wine, and things best left unnamed because we don't have the money to pay the royalties for even hinting at their identities. All this and more in, The Tavern.

The Tavern. Your adventures start here, why not simplify your life and run your adventures here?

Another fine product from somebody distantly related to the people who produce Kelloggs Cereals.

Coming soon: The Pub, the Bar, and The Saloon (for you fans of wild west RPGs)

I know what you mean. Our current module is turning into somewhat of a Tavern-crawl. The city the adventurers are in has sixty taverns, and we've had encounters at about half of them so far.

I am proud to state that MY campaign will actually start in some place other than a tavern! More like a gathering of Rashemi barbarians drinking mead around a campfire and watching one of the PC's tell and act out a funny story! HAHA!:D

I'm going to one up your campaign setting with *my* new campaign setting - The Tavern Parking Lot.

And look for the sequel: The Drunk Tank!

:)

I do my best NOT to have my games start in a tavern, lets face it, how many people you see/ met in a bar would you trust to go on a life threating adventure with? ;)

Depends on how well they can keep down their ale. If they can down 8 pints of vodka without batting an eyelid, they are very effective meatshields.:D

What's so disappointing is that so few actual people in taverns want to endanger their lives for some heavily guarded artifact. :)

Also, I remember in the Great Net Spellbook (2nd Edition), there was a spell that would transport you to a random tavern in the Multiverse. It was intended to facilitate cross-overs. (meet in Moe's Tavern! Meet at Rick's Place!, etc.)

Demiurge out.

Nice idea mythusmage. Unfortunately, someone has already done this one. Yep! And it was our very own WotC. The World Serpent Inn is a web enhancement for the Manual of the Planes. Now you really CAN adventure through the tavern!
