The Templars Ride Forth!

Have you developed monasteries in any detail? Have they been integrated with Paladins? How do clerics fit in with orders of Paladins as well?

Semper Fidelis,

SHARK

In my DMing experience I've only had one paladin/cleric temple monastery that the PCs have been involved in and that was when I was running Greyhawk. The temple was one for St. Cuthbert in Greyhawk city and had both clerics and paladins. It was pretty much a fortress with nice gardens and study areas. There were martial training parts, scholarly prayer areas, and gardening to keep them humble, plus lots of good works programs for the poor and sick. When the evil cult of Iuz was revived the Cuthbert faithful donned their plate mail and stood firm, resisting the cults assaults and then sending out their best paladin (and some adventurers) to track down and root out the evil. Those who are familiar with the Falcon series of modules will know the plot.

Generally I consider clerics more as a generic class paladin than as a preacher priest and so clerics and paladins usually fill the same niches if they are of compatible ethos' in my games.
