I've offended no one. I mentioned no one by name, I simply think that some people have a few too many dice in the bag.

Unfunny is one thing, but someone feelling like the flashtoon has hurt them so badly that 4e has eliminated them as a potential customer? Really? C'mon.... That's just a little much.

It's not the funniest thing on earth. That would be "This is Spinal Tap" but it's not offensive.
I agree with you 101%, but passions and emotions run wild here since august, so as a friend I ask you to just let it go. You won't change anyone's mood by direct confrontation.

You need to check the stickied thread at the top of this forum.

WD, Nothing I've said has been anything but completely civil, Nobody's been flamed, I've responded respectfully, however Ainatan's right. You have to admit though, doesn't it seem odd that the arguement is about something as silly as a flashtoon? I hope more than presents get unwrapped this holiday season!

You just can't leave it alone, can you? Sigh.

Let me try.

Rabelais, we're all working really hard to get along, even when we don't necessarily agree with one another. The ability to stay friends despite disagreeing is one of the things that make this site fun. Insulting - inadvertently or otherwise - a large number of people who didn't dig the cartoon isn't exactly conducive to that. If someone asks you politely to scale back on stating your opinion, it's really nice to do so. It doesn't mean you're losing somehow, it just means you're being a good guy by not slamming lots of EN World members.

So please. Stay far, far away from insulting people just because their opinions don't match your own.

The first encounter, he's 'pre-interview', and very innocent to what's going on. He'll introduce Francis, and invite the adventurers into his lair, offer them some treasure, etc.

I envision tea and cookies in this scenario. And perhaps a little story about how he was hoping to adventure with them but can't because he got this new exciting role as a monster (rawr).

:D

Yes. I like. The look on his face in my mind when the PCs attack him will be priceless. If only my players could see inside my head for that...

You know what aspect of this has not been beaten like a dead horse yet? (no, this is not about abusing yet another animated animal) ...

the interviewer!

he must have awesome feats and skills himself. When he left the beholder of last interview, he was slowly turned to stone and shattered. And, yet, here he is in one piece.

* Self-resurrection ability? that would be an awesome new feat that fits in well with all this new self healing that is talked about.
* gated in from an alternate universe? that would be a testament to the powers of the 4edition planar cosmology
*Clone? more 4e magic revealed!
*Twin? like bees from a hivemind ...
*Or, the more obvious answer, the DM's Pet-NPC that is protected by 4edition pantheon?

other far-fetched theories and rampant speculation?
