The Tielfling and The Gnome: On the Set of 4th edition

So not only are they removing our beloved Gnomes from the PHB, they have to make fun of us? *sigh*

Never fear. That tiefling THINKS she torched the actual gnome, doesn't she? Isn't that funny?

Wait until she opens the purse she pinched off of his "body"... :D

My thoughts are along similar lines, but I usually think of gnomes having a darker complexion, so my models would be Ben Kingsley and Mila Kunis. :)

Ooh, Mila Kunis, I hadn't heard of her. Good call. I've also used Sasha Cohen (the ice skater) as another model for gnome women.

And Ben Kingsley is also an excellent look. He's got that twinkle even when he's stern.

I don't know. I rather enjoyed this cartoon. It's just a preview, and it's just light-hearted fun. So gnomes will first appear in the Monster Manual. Eventually they'll appear as a more fleshed-out player race.

All we're talking about here is the initial release of the Player's Handbook. Yeah, I like gnomes more than tieflings, too. But ehh, change is inevitable. The first core books won't force you to change what you prefer. They just favor a perceived "more popular" choice of character types.

Is it me, or does the interviewers voice sound a little like david hyde pierce? (i know it's not him -- but I get niles crane in my head when I hear it)

Not funny.

My standards are pretty high though. The only gaming comedy I've ever found funny has been Fear Of Girls and ab3's stories. I think I laughed at one issue of Order of the Stick, the one that parodied the Monty Python spam sketch with polearms. And that was only funny because the original was.

FWIW, I thought the clip was cute. The gnome's voice acting and dialog did it for me.

Related topic-This, friends and neighbors, is some of the funniest gaming related humor I've ever, ever seen. Please enjoy!
