Could people please explain to me how that film is funny? I mean, there should be jokes then, shouldn't there? All we have is "look at my kewl powerz" on the one side and whimsicality on the other, connected by bad writing and bookended by killing and taking stuff.

You have just described D&D.

No, we can't. Humor is a funny thing (or not); you either "get" it, or not, and in this case, you (and many others in this thread) are not "getting" it. It doesn't appeal to your sense of humor in the right way.

Thus, no amount of explanation would make it seem funny to you, just as the people who find it funny (like myself) don't need any explanations. I mean... look at the gnome and his minion! :)

There's a difference between "getting it" and "being amused by it". The animation is not at hard "to get it". As a matter of fact, it so easy "to get it", it is predictable. That just is not very amusing, merely clumsy.

My people have a saying that in english roughly go as this...

"If you are not worth a laugh, you are not worth much."

In this case, I'm using "getting it" to mean "having your funny bone tickled", not "understand where things are going"; apologies for possible confusion.

And it's not amusing to you, for whatever reason, whereas others have laughed at it; my whole point was that humor is a subjective matter, and trying to explain why you find something amusing is usually pointless. :)
