If it doesn't work out for some reason (i.e. those living aren't willing to fork over the gold, which would be understandable), we can investigate other options. Let me know what you all think as we continue on here.

One simplistic, and probably grossly unfair, way to handle it would be to just sell the equipment of the character as necessary to raise them. Of course that is unbalancing from a gaming perspective. But otherwise, I'm not sure.
