So many 1st and 2nd edition versions of these products that it'll be a long time before I need to see them again, especially with so many other, worthy places to go to and see.

Well, true for you, but what about those people who are new to FR?

I've played D&D for 20+ years, but didn't get into FR stuff until 3d edition. I kind of find it a PITA to try and find more information on something, only to have to try and get it from eBay, and then it may require some work to make it compatible. Yes, *.pdf are cheap, but I much prefer print products.

I'm not saying revisit every FR product of the past, but isn't there a core group of FR products that should be updated? They did Silver Marches, despite having produced "The Savage Frontier" and "The North" boxed sets, and surely "Unapproachable East" isn't the first product dealing with Thay.

No (IMO, of course). Those new players can buy (very cheap) pdfs to get information on previously published lands. It makes no sense spending all the required resources on regurgitating old areas that have been done to death just because some newcomers "prefer print products". If we follow that logic, we'll see the same lands done again and again and again and again ad nauseum ad infinitum. Further, because virtually all the geographic products really *were* geographic products, there is virtually no work needed to make them "compatible". Geography is geography (tiny little timeline additions hardly justifies a new product).

I want to see location-based accessories on places we haven't seen yet. Where are products for Nimbral? Lantan? Lapaliiya and the rest of the South? Heck, even Halruaa would be nice (as FR16 Shining South hardly did the South justice). Sheesh, it's been 15 years of FR - throw us DMs a bone here.

To answer the original question above:
1) Bad direction (*tentative*). If I never see another feat or prestige class again, it'll be too soon. If the product is geographically-related, I want them to discuss geography/society/etc - not barf up more feats/PrCs at me. However, since there is no page breakdown that I notice, maybe the later chapters detailing Thay, Rashemen, Aglarond, and Thesk (YAY! Thesk!) might be lengthy. Here's hoping they got the right mix...

2) No idea of what race it could be. Hell, I've got every FR product ever printed, and I don't think I recognized most of the races that were listed...

Being unfamiliar with Forgotten Realms, what part of Faerun does the "Unapproachable East" exactly detail?

The unapproachable east is the area east of the sea of fallen stars which is a large inland sea right smack in the middle of the part of the campaign setting that sees the most use, pretty much.

Last thing on earth I'd want to see. So many 1st and 2nd edition versions of these products that it'll be a long time before I need to see them again, especially with so many other, worthy places to go to and see.

I do agree that we need a citybook but I completely disagree that it needs to be Waterdeep.

The problem is that most of the people that runFR camapigns do so in The Savage North, The Shining South, the Western and Eastern Heartlands, The moonsea, Vassa and Damara, and the Vast. I figure they plan on doing the whole dang thing.

PDF does not = Boxed Set. I do not have the City of Splenders (Although I'd like it). But, I'd like to see hem do it. Waterdeep, Skullport (YES! Oooooh yes), and the surrounding areas like the Meer of Dead Men. They could approach things like the underwater part of Waterdeep's bay, for instance.

Halruaa would definetly kick. But I'd like to also see the MoonShaes, and Nelanther Isles mentioned. Heck, let's see Mulhorand. Though, I'm not too interested in Cormyr, admittedly.

I don't have the Silver Marches yet, but I do have LoD and I like it. I would love to run a campaign in the Realms (I have enough products), but I don't want to spend all this money on suppliments I fear I'll never get to use. :(

Was anyone else dissapointed in the last Counciler and Kings book? I enjoyed the first two immensely, but the second just seemed like Cunningham was rushing herself through it. It seemed a little contrived, there at the end.

Xarlen,

I would say go for it, the silver marches has enough to work with for a whole campaign. You have everything you need. Even if you don't do all the politics going on in the silver marches there is still enough stuff to set your own stories against. Your character would not even have to leave the silver marches, ever and it would still be interesting. (IMO)

I would highly encourage giving it a go.

I would love to see a 320 page waterdeep book. That would absolutely rock! But I think they could cram it into somthing the size of F&P or UE

Aaron.

Actually, I'm not greatly interested in the Silver Marches perse. I would prefer the Unnaproachable East, or the Sword Coast (or the islands, perhaps, maybe even Chult, Calimshan or Tethyr).

I looked at it in the store, and it really irked me there was so littel information on the High Forest. What gives?

And, does it annoy anyone else that there seems to be no good crunchy Thayan stuff? No necromancer stuff, no good, yummy undead? Or Resheamen Witch PrC?
