The WalkinG Dead 2.12 Better Angels (spoilers)

Going to get a horse would probably lead the zombies closer to the house. Besides, Carl is there now and hoping he could outrun those zombies that didn't follow Rick would probably make Rick think twice about separating from Carl. The sooner they get back to the house, the sooner they get everyone moving to evacuate, a plan Rick will probably think of as soon as they get half way to the house and look back to see what is coming. The few fences between them and the house will slow the walkers down a bit and that's about all the extra time I think they can hope to have. They're going to waste a minute just getting Maggie to shut up about Glen not being with them. As long as the walkers are already coming, Rick had better fire off a few shots as they get closer to the house to make sure everyone is already up and alert.

Hey, that reminds me -- does anyone know where the BRAAAINS! trope comes from in zombie lore? I had assumed it was Romero, but Romero zombies are all-purpose canibals, not specifically fixated on eating brains.

The best I can figure out, the BRAAAINS! trope comes from "Return of the Living Dead," which was a send up of Romero horror movies. But does anyone know if it predates that?

I think I would have most of the group hole up in the basement. Herschel mentioned stocking it all up for a few days just in case. Assuming he managed to do just that, the main group would stay with the house, doing what they could to barricade themselves in and then retreat to the basement. At least four people would be left topside as bait to lead the zombie horde away from the farm. They'd initially pull out in two vehicles going to the same direction, but moving slowly enough to bait the horde after them. After at least a few miles, the vehicles would split and speed up a bit, making sure there is a buddy system in place. Try to drag the horde into two different groups and continue to lead them away from the farm for another 5-10 miles or so, then both groups of bait would double back to the farm in a hurry, load everyone else up, and head off in a different third direction.

Great plans.

But if you're so screwed up that sleeping in the same bed as a hot chick is a difficult decision, then plan-making won't be your strong suit.

My one problem with that movie can be summed up by paraphrasing the punchline from an old joke: "A girl like that, you don't eat all at once. "
