D&D 5E The War Flail in 5E

How would you model the war flail in D&D?

I'm thinking d10 or d12 damage (because, you know, the damage is swingy), Reach, Bludgeoning or Piercing damage (depending upon whether the flail is spiked or not) and eligible for the Polearm Mastery feat.

I would probably do d10, bludgeoning, heavy, reach.

FWIW, we house rule flails gain a +1 to hit against targets using a shield due to the nature of the flail wrapping around and hitting the target behind. I would add that to the war flail as well.

I would model ths flail as this;

Martial melee weapon
Greatflail 20 gp 1d10 bludgeoning 6 lb. Heavy, reach, two-handed
