D&D 5E The Warlord shouldn't be a class... change my mind!

Having said that I still believe that the idea that the Warlord requires a more tactically advanced ruleset to exist is untrue. It would help it and all other classes specially the non magical but there is enough rule space as is for one to exist.
13th Age has the Commander class, which is the Warlord equivalent, and it works really well, despite the game not having the tactically advanced ruleset.

I derive far more pleasure in denying other people what they want than I would ever get playing myself.

MUAHAHAHAHAHA!

Seriously, do you guys ever read what you write, or is this just a self-congratulatory circle?
Do you ever read your posts? Throw not stones in a house of glass...

This is simply not true. People did care. They stopped playing the game. And that’s why we have 5e after the shortest edition over the past 45 years. And they still care, which is why the 5e DMG explicitly has options for slower healing, and not all classes have magical powers
Yes, but, the reason they left the game was because of the 4E ruleset as a whole, not the fact that the Warlord existed. Or, are there people who loved 4E, but left the game because they couldn't stand the Warlord?

Hmm...
