Theme song for the "Sharpe's" series

cnath.rm

First Post
I've just finished watching the first 4 tapes in the
series, (the only ones I own at the moment) and really
like the song at the end of 2, 3, and 4.

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me wether or not the
further tapes in the series add to it or not and if there
are any websites where I could see all of the words.
What I have is listed below I was just working by ear so
I may have gotten some words wrong.

---------------------------------
Heres 14 shillings on the drum, for those who volunteer to come.
To list and fight the foe today, over the hills and far away.

Or the hills and or the main, through Flanders Portugal and Spain
King George commands and we obey, over the hills and far away.

Through smoke and fire and shot and shell, and to the very walls of hell.
But we will stand and we will stay, over the hills and far away.

Or the hills and or the main, through Flanders Portugal and Spain
King George commands and we obey, over the hills and far away.

Though I may travel far from Spain, a part of me shall still remain.
For You are with me every day, over the hills and far away.

Or the hills and or the main, through Flanders Portugal and Spain
King George commands and we obey, over the hills and far away.
---------------------------------

Any help anyone could give would be very.. well, helpful:)

Thanks,

Excellent series and great song!

http://www.compleatseanbean.com/sharpe30.html (scroll down towards the bottom for the TV lyrics)

I also got a ton of sites by doing a Google search for

"sharp far away"

You can even order the soundtrack from the UK (Someone please let me know if there's somewhere in the US that has it)

If you liked the series, try reading the books. Bernard Cornwell is an excellent author. His Authorian trilogy is a great read as well. I was able to pick up all the Sharpe books on Amazon for a reasonable price.

Its nice to see our American friends so appreciative of a British show! Especially one deserving of praise as much as Sharpe!

Absolutely, and lets not fails to give Priase to Sharpe aka Sean Bean who is a Sheffield lad like myself :D

Heck yeah! That series was great. It was interesting to see him in the James Bond movie Goldeneye. I was thinking,

"Hey 007, you can't beat him...he's Colonel Sharpe!" :)

Hi there! :)

I'm sure I'll get round to them eventually - just too busy at the moment reading other things! ;)

Among other things I just received 1500+ pages worth of Fritz Lieber novels for my birthday a few days ago. :)

Sean Bean is one of my favourite actors - although he did come across as a bit of a tool in a recent interview I saw. :o
