D&D General They Should Drop Hexblade as Subclass...

Heretic of The Seventh Circle
And make it a Gish, and then make a Shadow Patron subclass.

Speaking of doing that, a half pact caster should still get 2 slots right? And just get half caster progression for spells known and prepared.

And like...their own list of invocations...and a type of curse that defines each subclass rsther than a Patron.

Thoughts?

Hexblade as a subclass in 5.5e (look its official) is redundant.

5.5e's Pact of the Blade does the major aspect of the subclass and the Hex big enough to really matter.

To me, 3e's hexblade and duskblade, and 4e's swordmage should be subclasses of some arcane warrior class. But its too late for that.

But if we keep it, I would go harder on the sword being the patron and make it a sentient magic item that talks to you and is right there. Warlock doesnt really need more power in the gish department.
