You bet. This was actually weighing on me pretty heavilly.

Turns out the guy is quasi-local to me, and I'll be meeting him tomorrow to give him the ticket.

On monday, I sent an e-mail to the guy I gave the ticket to, and asked how the game was. Here is part of what I got back:

I didn't go. I found out on thursday that you needed a badge to play in events. WTF??

I'm extremely sorry for giving the ticket to such an idiot. Please accept my apologies.
