D&D 5E things I changed for my game

You live too far from me, sadly. I have completely banned the ranger class until I get around to stripping its parts and rebuilding it in a fashion that makes it both strong and still balanced, probably going to give them at will hunters mark at level one so they have something. The beastmaster will probably have the beast changed to having one command set at the start of the fight and is controlled by the GM, telling it a new command is an action, so you could have it attack everything that isn't on your side, but you have no control over the target it goes for.

I had a moment of insanity as well, I considered giving the EK some extra spells taken from the ranger list, as well as flame blade, mostly to give them more weapon options.

tuxedoraptor; The reason WHY I removed the out of combat abilities and gave in combat abilities is that the subclass is titled ASSASSIN said:
Assassination is significantly less about combat than it is infiltration/posing as a fisherman or knife swallower. But if it works...

Eh. If he's running a mostly combat-oriented dungeon crawl, and/or views assassin as more of a "combat rogue" than someone who kills specific people, those changes make more sense.

Also bumps the power level of them way above everyone else, particularly given the reduction in recovery mechanics for resource-based classes - which is all of the non-rogue classes.

You're allowed to play your game how you want to play your game, and if this is how you have fun then more power to you.

But most of these changes are terrible to me and I would quit any game with half this stuff.

Well, Im going to instantly start with this form of the assassin, its more of a saftey net if someone builds an assassin and finds it boring to play. Most of these are ideas, so extremely rude remarks and insults are not helping me figure out how to balance the subclasses. The quick rest mechanic I added was because time is a very crucial part of my games in 5E, spending a day out of combat can mean the half cleared dungeon from before is now fully stocked, reinforced and prepared for the party to come barging back in.

The ranger still is banned because my players never showed up for the most recent session and I have no way to speak to them outside of face to face so I cannot be assured that half of my ideas will work for the class.
