I find it interesting how many of these cities are in the south.

Of that list, I'd only classify two of them as being from the South. A lot of the Florida cities are so innundated by retired northerners that they don't have much in common with the rest of the South.

Orlando, Fla. - North by virtue of being populated by transplanted Yankees
St. Petersburg, Fla. - North by virtue of being populated by transplanted Yankees
Detroit - North
Baltimore - North
Nashville, Tenn.
Wilmington, Del. - North
Miami - North by virtue of being populated by transplanted Yankees
Memphis, Tenn.
Jacksonville, Fla. - North by virtue of being populated by transplanted Yankees
St. Louis - Midwest =! South

An old saying of mine, that I recall saying before a long time ago on this board...

The US consists of The North, The South, California, and Texas. All of Florida below Jacksonville has been annexed by the North.

No wonder why I left [Homestead] Florida..... and here I thought it was because of the major influx of Cubans......

And the very southern part of Florida has been annexed by Cuba.
