This is a Rant [Meta-thread]

Rhialto makes several snide witty comments. He contributes nothing to the debates, and strongly hints that he considers all discussion of this problem foolish. Quietly insults every other person taking part in this debate's intelligence, but in a manner that is hard to pin down, and state what's offensive about. Leaves with with some witty, but innappropriate quote.

I hope I am not right I sold my old D&D books for food money in college. I just figure I was misquoted again, I'm getting used to it.

Give a page reference and quote from a game book that I made up from Spinkey Doovan press which definatly states that the rule in question was actually a typo caused by a sneeze and people are making way too much of a fuss about it. Figure there are so many books out there nobody will notice. Post a agreeing statement under a different log in which agrees that this is the greatest suppliment ever written and is more important than snickerdoodles. Try to log a fake review of this fake product to further cover my tracks.

I have been wrong! Wrong! Wrong!

Don't be so hard on yourself. Arguing with Jdavis will do that to you.

Wonder how any of this has to do with monkeys, cheese, or hellcows.

Shakespeare ate cheddar while plagarizing his works, 1 million monkeys tried to recreate his works and instead invented the internet. And Hellcows are mad as, well, hell that the monkeys beat them to it.

Contemplates selling soul to devil.

Been there, done that. Think I got taken. Also, found it at a yard sale years later looking none too good.

Darn, bought his books at a yard sale with food money.

Points out the error in having done that from a time utilization stand point. The books most likely provided jdavis with 1,000+ hours of enjoyment. The food would have only provided temporary enjoyment, being been fully consumed in a day or two.

Brings up original rule in question, again pointing out its applicability to other D20 gaming systems. Cites an example from a recent "Mutants and Masterminds" game of how the rule could have been used to prevent the superheroes from destroying Boston's Fenway Park and the New England Aquarium.

Reignites the side discussion on the various flavors of Coca-cola, talking at length about the merits of Vanilla Coke, and how Cherry Coke never achieved the level of success that it could have. Blames Baraendur for that.

Berates Baradtgnome for once again raising the topics of Shakespeare, Monkeys, Cheeze Wiz and I Dream of Jeannie. States that all of those topics were discussed to the Nth degree in the prior thread, shut down by pressure from Animal Rights Activists because of the Hellcow incident.

Starts a new side discussion on the subject of Harry Potter.

Announces that a limited edition 4th Volume will be added to the Gibberlings Project, highlighting the various allied races of the Gibberling. Asks for suggestions.

Comments about the various films by Kevin Smith. Points out how Smith has had success as both a film director and comic book author, but how his attempt at combining the two was a total failure (Clerks: The Comic Book, from 1998).

Provides link to the web page discussion H20 as a dangerous chemical that should be banned.

Attaches picture of the poker scene from the film "The Sting", again photoshopping out the cards and chips and replacing them with D&D materials.

Replies with a modified scene from Scarface:

'You wanna :):):):) with me? Okay. You wanna play rough? Okay. Say hello to my little friend', as Pacino steps forth with Gary Coleman who is carrying the new DnD core rulebooks.

Responds to the very first post, completely ignoring the 5 pages of posts that followed it and hoping that somehow, my voice will be heard.

Considers going back to read first 5 pages but decides not to. Makes plans to repeat post in slightly different terms if this post is not quoted and/or acknowledged. Future posts might ask everyone to "get back on track here!".

Getting back on track would require approximately 10 tons of dynamite as the tracks seem to be covered in kazillions of sidetracks.

Responds that jonesy is wrong and that in 3.5E "dynamite" has been renamed "smoke powder party sticks" and that ONLY 12th level fire genasi with a greater spell focus in necromancy and 9 ranks in Tumble can craft them successfully, DUH.

Despite the volatile response, post subtly exhibits warm and fuzzy (desperate) feeling inside that someone acknowledged his post.

Note that due to the investigational freedoms instituted in large part to the dept. of Homeland security, all instances of the word "dynamite" or other explosives, including high yield explosives, weapons of mass destruction, genocide, and germ warfare be replaced with the word "marklar" to avoid being investigated and probed in uncomfortable bodily locations. Therefore, your previous post now reads:

Getting back on track would require approximately 10 tons of marklar as the tracks seem to be covered in kazillions of sidetracks.

and the reply to that now reads:

Responds that jonesy is wrong and that in 3.5E "marklar" has been renamed "marklar party sticks" and that ONLY 12th level fire genasi with a greater spell focus in necromancy and 9 ranks in Tumble can craft them successfully, DUH.

Now, with that out of the way, introduce a new take on the rule under discussion, but note that despite the new point of view, it is still just as broken as it was to begin with. Point out several posts on pages 2,3, and 4 that Zogg's take on the situation is completely disproven.

Comes to Zogg's defense, going on at length about the merits of Zogg's position. Does no bother to go back and reread prior pages, and actually has no clue as to what Zogg had posted, but makes a firm and reasonable-sounding argument based upon quotes from the 3.5E DMG.

Points out that Baradtgnome has not responded from last week's SilverMoon post, so has obviously chosen to conceed defeat on all points.

Goes into a lengthy discussion about Australia, making slanderous comments about its residents. Actually has no ill will towards Australia and its population, but wishes to draw MerricB into the discussion.

Discusses Sonic the Hedgehog, pointing out that the McDonalds Corporation will be starting a new Kids Meal campaign using that this Friday.

Initiates a discussion about pathetic movie sequels, and how they never should have been made, as they tarnish the memory of the original. Cites as examples Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan, Godfather II, and Austin Powers: The Spy who Shagged me.

Decides to stop attaching photoshopped pictures of people playing D&D, as other posters are now doing so.

Attaches the current "Airwolf" pin-up shot, photoshopping Baraendur's new avatar picture onto it.
