On a tangent how much do americans know of the Eurovision song contest? Do any of you watch it? Or do the networks there even show it?

Man here in Florida when it gets below 40 F the news starts telling people how to stay warm. I guess the 4 Florida natives don't know cause everyone in Florida is from up North.

I would say not too many at all. I'm aware of it, but I should be given that I'm getting a Master's in European Studies next week, so a lot of the people I'm in contact with are also aware of it. Heck, in my Capstone we watched a clip about the pro-Yushchenko Ukrainian entry, which was interesting to say the least . But outside Euro-watchers like us, I really doubt you'll find more than a few people who have even heard of it, much less could talk about what it is.

I don't know that it's ever appeared on TV, though I suppose some of the music networks might show clips if nothing else. I'm not twigged into that culture myself, though.

Heh. I remember sometime in the early 90s when I lived in Tampa (before I moved to Canada ) we had a bit of snow and temperatures were just under 32F...the power was out for like three days. I have learned one or two things about cold since then.

Hm, I spent most of the lst 2 years in Poland and I havent heard about the Eurovision Song contest. Then again, maybe they talk about it in Polish

And we Alaskans don't close the bathroom window until neg75 or so
