Same, I think it will happen but more as a setting book then specifically creature oriented one. We have the Elemental Chaos/Abyss book coming out, so a Far Realm one can't be that far away.

It doesn't make any sense either to vote for the dragon. It is going to be getting tons of stuff in Draconomicon, so why give it even more things. I rather see it go to a monster that ISN''T getting a whole book devoted to its race.

Exactly. Frankly, I'd like to see the bullywug, remorhaz or frost giant "go the distance". They're the creatures I'm most interested in seeing expanded in a Dragon article. Even the ankheg could be kind of cool - especially given they have a rich history of appearing in everything from the classic Slaver series of modules to Baldur's Gate CRPG.

Nothing wrong with retrievers and rust monsters, but I just don't think they offer the same options. Sure, Rusty might win a popularity contest... but the ecology of the rust monster is a fairly well-traveled path.
