What about the EE version? I've heard that it'll be out in August, but can't seem to find any kind of verification of it...I'd like to pre-order it.

Sweet. I'll probably get the boxed set as I don't own the theatrical cut of TTT yet either. I'll give my copy of Fellowship to my folks...

The current rumor on the EE is that New Line will still wait until November for the EE, the big holiday shopping season. New Line has not had any offical word on the EE yet. But thats why they are putting out the TC early. I am bummed out that there won't be a EE preview on the TC DVD, thats the only bonus feature I was interested in seeing. But I will get both, as I did woth FotR and TTT, they are different movies and have different bonus features on them.

I'd like to get both, but I haven't been able to convince my wife that they are actually 2 different movies with different features. So, I have the EE for both.

Drat. No EE until Christmas? I guess that makes sense as they don't have another film lined up this year.

Is there definitely going to be a boxed (EE) set? That would be something to invest in. I haven't bought any of them on DVD so far.

So far the only boxed set NL has said would come out will be the TC DVD's. Out the same day as RotK DVD.
