I'm glad to see Reign Over Me begin to make it's bones in the first weekend. I won't see it until it comes out on DVD, myself, but I wish well to those involved in the project.

Just barely, though, by $5 million, which isn't too good considering 300 has been out 3 weeks, and TMNT was a premiere (which usually means it's most lucrative).

Looks like Marky Mark's "Shooter" bombed, coming in 3rd.

Couldn't some of that be explained by it's # Theaters compared to the top two which have a minimum of 300+ more theaters?

Me, I'd really be more interested in the number of tickets sold for movies, rather than how much they made (since ticket prices keep going up and up...), and then tickets per theatre. Saying "Look how much cash we raked in!" can be a little deceptive, especially if one wants to know how a movie ranks compared to blockbusters of years past. It's all spin.
