Beats me. Some do, I'd imagine.

Spiderman opened on Friday, though (midnight, to be sure, but Friday nonetheless).

I was just kind of joking at the one-upmanship and the rather illogical comparisons. Marketing is marketing, after all - and it's always worth laughing at marketing wankers.

Off the top of my head I know both Matrix sequels opened late on Wednesday nights (like 10, not midnight) and so did the second X-Men. Can't think of any others off the top of my head that have but I remember going to several others. I also see to remember that when movies do open on a Wednesday it always seems to kill them having a huge opening weekend.
