My sister's 16 year old stepson committed suicide this morning. All they can figure is this is a reaction to his theft of $100 dollars from one of his teachers on Friday. They found out about it Monday, and the teacher even offered not to press charges and had agreed to let Nick work the money off by doing chores and errands for her. She understood my sister and her family were having a really bad time financially (My brother in law can't work and my sister lost her job last week) so she wasn't going to be a hard case and push the issue. He went to bed last night as normal with no signs anything was wrong. He got up this morning as normal and went out to do his chores. He then walked up the hill to the barn and hung himself. My brother in law found him only 15 or so minutes after he did it. The authorities said that his neck broke instantly; it was evident he knew what he was doing when he did it. His younger brother (who is 10) is especially stricken.
I know it's selfish of me, but I'm so bloody angry because of what her stepson did...I have a very radical view of suicide, according to the psychologists I've spoken with...rather than make someone who might read this angry I'll just keep my opinion to myself.
I'm pretty bad company right now... I'll write more later when I'm in a better mood. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
