Thoughts on DC Universe?

There's a 50% discount sale on DCU for today only (direct2drive.com) so I was hoping to hear some honest opinions from people who have played it, whether they liked it or loathed it, so I can decide if I'll get it or not.

What does it play like? Is there a lot of grind? Much RP? What's the 'community' like? Is it fun? What's the end-game like? Does it perform well on low-end/mid machines or does it require high-end GPU's just to get decent FPS? What are the server lag times like? Is there much queuing?

I was in the beta for a few months and I decided not to purchase the game. I had some serious reservations about how they structured the power system and the costume limitations were pretty inexcusable considering what you can do with Champions Online. Gameplay was fun for a while, but grew boring. I would not even try to play it on a low-end machine.
