Thoughts on how to run L1 characters with L6/L7 characters?

On the dream - dreams are fine, but the GM should not tell the player how the PC reacts to the dream. Be careful not to role play the PC for them.

Normally I'd agree, but he needs a lot of help. He's specifically asked us in the other campaigns to help spell out his character for him. He asked me what his character motivations are to stay in the party. I was trying to help him out.

I created this for him to help him out; I also said he could create another L1 character from scratch if he would have more fun. The sorcerer player is more key to the campaign and is having a blast with his character (he said that in 10+ years of playing, this is the highest he's even gotten a magic user without death).

Edit: You had a very good point, I don't want to pigeon hole Mac Sim's player. I just sent him an e-mail saying that he is free to pick a new L1, Mac Sim with this dream which he is free to ignore or to play as he wishes, or to play Mac Sim becoming the Wanderer if he thinks that could be fun to play/or if he is having a hard time with further character concept.

Thank you

General comments... unless you run the game in a one-way-to-go plotlines, then it's not on you to fo more than setup the "how do we meet" event.

I would suggest it be some form of raid by numbers of peons (give the low guys time to shine) then a bigger boss that needs the two big guys while the others help finish minions and help folks.

That ought to get to 2nd level. Then its safer for the newbies to hang and also they have seen the newbies eork.

Then it's up to them. Do they take a lesser mission to "season the greenhorns" or do they jump back into the thick of things risking the rookies?

Make sure they have ootions and challenges either way and in between and ***let them choose.***

That said - I use come back same level these days.
