Spoilers THUNDERBOLTS* (spoilers I guess?)

Saw it an it definitely seemed like a worthwhile effort. Was a bit sad that Taskmaster was just killed off. Maybe it is not coincidental that Ghost did the deed - the consolation prize for also being a bit underdeveloped. They really went in on Chekov's gun there, what with the comment about how they are all punchy people and then the resolution comes when they stop punching. It was not maybe as good as I had been hoping. But there were certainly trying to do something with their premise at least.
Taskmaster getting killed off was like “Why?” And all I could think of was they wanted it to feel like Suicide Squad and after that I couldn’t shake the comparison. Not a bad Marvel movie but I need more stuff like Fantastic Four.

Movie was mid

The problem is it doesn’t know what it wants to be. One moment they are a bunch of idiots with some slapstick humor and then it’s this is dark and wow then literally the ending in the house is borderline silly
Why was taskmaster even in it!
They could have used some other members with different powers and it really felt like it was one members story and the rest brought very little
I sssume those that posted after me are in the same boat and waited for free Disney
Better than the red hulk cap movie and better than a lot of recent marvel but Superman was 10x better in every way

They weren’t originally going to kill her off. They decided that somebody had to die to up the stakes, though.

I posted a link about it upthread.
Went back and read that. To me, it didn’t feel that way, or at least it wasn’t successful. Story wise, they hadn’t set up any stakes as of yet. They had just introduced the character (in this movie. I remember her backstory from Black Widow.) It felt more like some tidying up of characters than ratcheting tension.

It felt like Taskmaster was killed off because Marvel had already based their advertising on the fact she was in the movie but they realized they didn't need her for the movie and they'd botched her character so badly there wasn't any demand for her in the MCU.

Otherwise they just wouldn't have brought her back at all instead of bringing her back just to kill her off.

Just watched it. Way better than I was led to believe.
Streamed it a couple weekends ago. Way worse than I was led to believe.

Boring. Typical of most of the past half dozen or so Marvel Studios garbage IMO. Too much everything except character development and good writing.

Now, the new Supermam movie? Effing fantastic. Great fun. And no, I'm normally more of a Marvel fan than DC, but I have to call a spade a spade. Superman was simply a far better movie. Yes, all IMO.
