No, I mean he won't allow an alternative for the level adjustment. And I've heard about the outsider/polymorph combo, but I'm not really sure what it is?

Being an Outsider allows for some really interesting Polymorph forms, like the Dwarf Ancestor I showed you earlier, that are not available to people who are not outsiders.

Say, if you can't get an alternate tiefling, have you considered just playing a human with the Fiendish or Infernal Heritage feats?

I've thought about, but with the right items, I can get enough bonus spells to make for the lost caster level, and it's part of the back story. I'm optimizing it, so it can survive long enough to be roleplayed, although this build is certainly going to be lots of fun.

Wait, which can't you do? Buy off LA? Or use the "Lesser" variant race? You should ask about both. Being behind a level kinda stinks. Its not about spells/day, its about spell level access. You don't want everyone to laugh at you and call you a Sorcerer, do you?



Regardless, my build is still viable. Just drop off the last AM level. Actually, if you are gonna do that, its not really worth it to take AM at all. Swap it out for Wayfarer Guide gets you a feat back in the form of Spell Focus: Conjouration. Unfortuantely, you still need Spell Focus: Abjuration and Skill Focus:Spellcraft for Initiate. Just make sure you put a couple of ranks in Know: Geography for WG at some point and try to take the level at 10th, right after you learn Teleport, when its actually useful.

Thanks for all the help. Also, where does the 8th level bonus feat mentioned earlier come form? Otherwise, I should have everything I needed.

I think the bonus feat is granted by Loremaster.

Yea, exactly. Its the Loremaster Secret feat. If you want, you can delay that feat until Loremaster3 (level 10, ECL11) when you get your 2nd Secret, but assuming you have at least a +2 Int headband and an 18 starting Int before racials, you'll have the Int score high enough to take it at 1st level. If you stick the Wayfarer Guide level in there as I suggested late in my build advice, I'd take it at 8 for sure, since otherwise it'll push that feat out to level 11 (ECL12).
