Time magics

Selganor

Adventurer
After having several time related adventures and episodes (Penumbra's "The Tide of Years" and some of the events in Eden's "Akrasia, Thief of Time"), my wizard decided to specialise in "time magic".

Does anyone know any nice sources on such things?
Any supplements I should know of that are worth a look (or a buy)?

"Encyclopedia Arcane: Chronomancy" from Mongoose is very good, definitely among my favorite EA books.

If you do introduce a chronomancy school of magic in your game, there's a lot of spells from PHB that could be said to fit that school better than their original. Time Stop obviously, but there's plenty of others you could put into that school if you want to. Haste, Slow, Gentle Reposte...

I made a list once and it got fairly long, but I have no idea where it is now...

Hmmm.. IIRC the old DLA1 (first edition DragonLance Adventures) hardcover had some rules about time travel and several spells. Is prolly not worth buying if only for that, but if you know someone who has the book, have a quick look at it for inspiration.

Furthermore, I seem to recall that there is a NetBook of Time somewehere bouncing around the Net.

Also, one the Wizards downloads page, the 'Arcane Age: Netheril - Empire of Magic' contains some info on time magic, and on that same page (under 'Rules' heading) is a RTF download on 'Chronomancy and the Multiverse'.

The best thing is, these last three resources are completely free!

Hope that helps some.

If your player can wait a few months, well, I'm writing one. :D But since he can't, I'll have to point to Mongoose's Chronomancy as well as the 2e namesake for inspiration if not rules.

The player in question would be me.

No idea when this campaign will continue, as our DM just figures out how the city one of our PCs just threw into complete chaos would continue to exist (if it does continue...)

So, if you want some feedback from a prospective time mage just drop me a line...

BTW: I'll check out Chronomancy the next time I'm in my FLGS
