Tiny preview for Scarrport: City of Secrets

Just a little eye candy to tide you over.

Silly otter with the sword.. he sort of reminds me of Yoda attacking Count Dooku in Attack of the Clones.

"Silly otter" as in I think he's funny... "silly rabbit..trix are for...."

But, yeah, it's an otterkin.. a PC race.

The books getting closer, almost ready for layout.

I'm also waiting on the rest of the artwork.

Cool, thanks for the update...though I do feel a little silly now, I completely forgot that you mentioned the otterkin pc race in an earlier post...i feel even sillyer for not realizing the joke...

Ghodon Elementalist

And a ghodon fire elementalist, for a less Steampunk feel.

I don't want to give the wrong impression.

Scarrport isn't all about Steampunk.

The print version of this product is something I would enjoy. From what has been described this is the type of setting my friends and I enjoy. We always tend to lean toward the tech levels of the 1500 - 1600's. Gunpowder weapons are right up our alley!

So how about pirates? Scarrport seems a likely place to find gentlemen of fortune.

Hiya,

Thanks for your interest!

Scarrport certainly offers opportunities for pirates in your setting, though, this being a port along a river, and not on the open sea, it's a bit different than standard fare. Also, the firearms are more in line with the Remington Winchester, and Cold 45' of the mid to late 1800's.

Scarrport has a definite Tom Sawyer/Huckleberry Fin vibe to it. I sort of think of the book as Greyhawk meets Pale Rider, Unforgiven and Tom Sawyer.

Also, this isn't a normal type of setting book where you absolutely have to keep every single element set in stone. You can always put Scarrport at the mouth of a river where it meets the ocean and you'll be good to go.

We didn't provide maps of the surrounding region for this purpose. We want you to feel like, if you need to, you can move each geographic element to fit your world.

Obviously, you can adopt the whole thing exactly as it is. Scarrport's playable right out of the "box", and we'll be supporting it with mini-supplements and adventures.
