D&D 5E Titles for Classes by level

For some reason I'm less enamored of this one. Maybe because being a cleric seems less a matter of study and more a matter of endurance to me. I don't know.

Conceptually, it follows the same "title for each new spell level" idea of the wizard one, so it makes as much sense from that direction.

Im not as happy with this one either, but it'll work (and I can still change it up)

One thing I like to use titles for is NPCs to differentiate them. It could be that the players are always coming up against wizards of different levels in which case I might say that you are up against 2 adepts and a high mage with differing stats for each. I do the same for other classes, a soldier may only be level 1, a veteran level 4, and a champion level 8. Using titles like this allows me to quickly make encounters as well since I can just say that I need 3 soldiers, a veteran, and an adept for this encounter. It may be more for my benefit, but I like it more than just saying I need three level 1 fighters, a level 4 fighter, and a level 5 wizard.

Actually, this is really the driving point behind what I am doing. Coming up with a system to differentiate different NPCs of the same type from one another. The PC side, I'm really not as concerned with.

Then I would suggest keeping a tier level sub-name as a clue for players. Adept/Journeyman/Mage could all be the same thing to most people, but if "magus" is reserved for tier 2, regardless of whether its a "High Magus" or "Grand Magus" (which is higher? who knows!) the players can clue in that they are not weak little apprentices nor the almighty Archmage. It provides *some* of the information, then creates an RP oportunity for the players to feel rewarded when sussing out that a Grand Magus is Higher than a High Magus but lower than a Magister, e.g.
