You know something is wonky when multi-classing HELPS the base class.

There are a few cases like that. For example, Beguilers get to add an Illusion or Enchantment spell to their list one level before they get access to 4th level spells - if you can slot one level of a PrC in there, delaying that class feature, Shadow Conjuration is available...

My current warblade took divine mind 1/fighter 1/warblade X so he could get a 3rd level stance without wasting a feat on it.

The stance progression is weirdest for the Crusader, who simply can't get the last Devoted Spirit stance unless they multiclass or take Martial Stance. I too would recommend just pushing back the stance progression.
