Tome of Battle: Anyone know anything about it yet?

I don't think WotC would step on the toes of the Marshal that badly.

I would also go so far as to say that these classes may even be tied to certain good saves. Warblade = good Fortitude, Crusader = good Will, and Swordsage = good Reflexes.

They already did. The dragon shaman (a class I like, unlike most people, it seems) is about as good with auras as the marshal, but has some peronal power and healing as well.

I think making a class that reworks/replaces the marshal would be excelent- I love the marshal but it's awfully low powered.

Gold,

Agreed. The only good way to use a Marshall (i felt) was using Gestalt with another spellcasting class, like Favored Soul.

Gold Roger, you are talking about a new class stepping on the toes of another classes crunch abilities. (I'm surprised you didn't include the Soulborn and Divine Mind in your post if you are going to go after the Dragon Shaman.) What you propose with the Warblade is stepping on not only the Marshal's crunch (as those other classes do somewhat with an aura-like ability boosting the abilities of allies within range), but his role and flavor as well. The Marshal and the Dragon Shaman hardly have the same flavor.

True but both use auras Ash. I think that's his point. I will also agree Marshal's role is in mass combat. No idea about Warblade but that was just one idea I had.

Ah, I thought you where talking about his mechanical toes.

Well, my second point still stands-the marshal is so weak that I don't think many would mind if the concept was reenvisioned (the one or two marshal players out there, but any reasonable DM would let that rebuild).

Rob,

Just goes to show, some times what you think you want and what you really need are two separate things. Or at least what you think would be cool some times isn't.

Me I liked Tome of Magic, just not enough to want to use it every time.

That's the thing, I wanted it for the Shadow Magic section, but found I didn't like the other two sections of the book, to the point where I felt like I'd be wasting my money.

Eh, maybe I'll find it in a used book store for half-price sometime in the future. It's not like the book will just disappear if I don't buy it right away.

Cheers!

Somehow I think all three of these classes will have something among their special abilities tied to the mental ability scores...

A Swordsage might be tied to schools of fighting techniques and use intelligence as an important ability score.
A Warblade might be a highly tactical fighter, with maybe charisma as their stat.
And a Crusader might be a driven warrior connected to causes or philosophies with wisdom as the stat.

Then again maybe all three classes have a three different subsets of abilities each tied to intelligence, charisma and wisdom.... So you can get three sets of three subsets, giving you 'nine disciplines'.

Kobold Avenger, I am inclined to agree with your assessment regarding ability scores. The way this product is presented above, it sounds like they have a lot in common with the monk in the way they pursue martial proficiency and the monk set the precedent for a mental ability score having an effect in melee combat.
